When I am looking at a barrel prospect, balance and natural ability is most important. Then heart & attitude. (don't count out quirky...great performers have quirks) With these qualities he's worth putting the time, effort & money into. After about 90 days of training I will re-evaulate him. In their first year of gymkana together, they have been reserve champion in Fc and A several times, but on Jun 4 and Jun 11 they were A High Point winners.
