Message: You've probably seen this already, but I sure thought of you especially the part about "taking a spill and keeping the dirt soft".

I'M A BARREL RACER
I'm a barrel racer, Lord. A quick time is all I need.
Just to turn these three barrels with a descent amount of speed.
I've hauled a lot of miles to run this horse of mine.
To make each barrel race & then the next one down the line.
If it's a spill that I take, please, Lord keep the dirt soft.
For another run I'll make just as soon as I dust off.
Then I'll climb back in my saddle, ever anxious for my next ride.
With heart & will in hand to win or lose with grace.
For some other girl will want to win this very same race.
So let us ride as one Lord, my barrel horse and me.
For hard work & perseverance, I believe this is the key.
We've trained & we've worked hard & if I win you know of course,
To You I'll give the glory, to You & to my horse.

It has been a long time, but Radar babies are beautiful. I miss barrel racing, but having twins has changed my life in a good way. Someday I will be back. I hope to go to a local race and see everyone.

Message: Hi Cindi!

We had a great time at the bloomington gymkhana, and last night at the barrel race. Wow, I feel like more of a team with this horse after a few weeks than I did with my other horse after a full year. Sometimes it just takes the right combo.
On Saturday Tonto aka Ricky was good as gold, But LAST night. we went out to Buffalo Meadows, and there were quite a few more riders, including a few that are regular gymkhana riders so I could get a better sense of times. There was a AAA+ horse/rodeo caliber horse there which helped me determine their course. He HAULED and ran a 17.5, so definitely not a standard course but not too far off. No one else came close to his times but on my third run I let Tonto go. He positively flew. We ran an 18.4, second fastest time of the night. At speed, he approached just about perfectly, I one handed him lightly and we had a fantastic first turn and hauled to two. I was so pleased with him, you really get the feeling he runs for YOU. I had a blast. He's really fun to ride and smooth in a pattern at speed.
Mom did 1000 times better on Tucker, we both feel like we're getting there - What fun.
We have to start videoing, we;ll try to send something up soon - Love, Wendy

HI WENDY, WHAT A GREAT REPORT, YEAH SEND VIDEO!!!

Message: Funny story about Hustlers. They announced the winners, and Brianna was the winner. After I ran Barrel set up, they came over and apparently Poles II wasn't in the results (Brianna bumped on that one) and Hannah won the buckle, but Hannah wouldn't take it. It ended up that Poles II changed the results in FC Youth and AA Youth (Kaitlin Bourassa) so Julie gave Hannah her buckle and Dan gave Kaitlin his buckle. I thought that was very generous.
Now that's sportsmanship!!! Thank you so very much.

Message: My mare is extremely patterned and now I am wayyyyyy behind her. She just turns a barrel like she was born to do that and she loves it!! My leg is still a little weak and I am afraid to get going to quickly but you really have to learn to use your legs on her because she is so sensitive that she will turn the barrel again if you don't let go fast. I love it, now I can start to try and catch up to her and do some of the local barrel races with her.
Thank you for all the great emails and suggestions, YOU DID AN AWSOME JOB WITH HER.

Hi Elva, Zoey was such a pleasure to ride, a very kind and willing mare. I'm sure the 2 of you will do great things. Please keep in touch. Cindi

Message: Cindi, Your a wealth of knowledge when it comes to horses. It is creeping up on a year now since we purchased Rocket from you and it has been a wild ride. Rocket has been a great horse and companion to Bill. The training Rocket has been put through not to mention the lessons Bill has learned has only made him a better rider and Rocket a much more respectful horse. No more nibbling!! Were looking so forward to the summer to come in and the days to remain longer so we can spend much more time out on the trails with him. Thanks so much and we will always remember the center of gravitiy along with the over and under...Your the best.

As always, I can't thank you enough for your help. I
was so pleased to finally get on the right track with
him. I will let you know how he does, (probably give
you WAY more information than you want or need for
that matter!) And thank you too for your words of
encouragement to Wendy about Gunner. She respects you
so much as do I and your opinion means the world to
her. It was fun to run him today and I get the feeling
that he has a lot more speed to give, and I think we
can grow together.

Forrest truley was like my child. You know how devestating his episodes were. He is at peace. Even though I know this, I,m still pissed that He's gone. I miss him so much. Everyone here loved him. All the beginners, adults & kids alike we're able to chase steers, do gymkhana, our extreme cowboy races, and just play on him.

He was loved, and he is missed!

Message: Hi Cindi, The baby is learning to kick. She has been great around us....of course we are careful. I cradle her and rub her all over and she stands great for that. But she loves to run around and back into Vodka and kick her. We haltered her yesterday with a breakaway of course, we rubbed her with it, adjusted it several times and she was real comfortable with it. She reminds me of a goat. Because you can't get in the corral without her coming up and nosing around. She thinks she is hot stuff at feeding time. She waits at the gait with Vodka, then she pounces on the grass hay and paws through and pretends to eat it. I could sit there and watch her all day! She is so fun. I am sure everyone here at work is sick of hearing about her! Melissa
