She ran a 20.884 in Barrels and a 9.982 keyhole. She had her best show yet. Kirstin and Prince got AAA hi point. Pearl and I did well, we ran a 13.9 single stake, she really showed that she has potential. Anyways, maybe we will see you at the barrel race in December. Take care, Christine |

She started off this am fine and about mid morning we thought she started to colic. Well, that was not the case as she was starting to bleed internally. I owned that mare for 20 years, so it was a hard decision, but the right thing to do is never easy. She is buried on the property. Would you believe this is the first horse I kept til the end. Everything else I sold long before this time. Talk to you soon, Tracey |

| Name: Melody Van Aken | E-mail: Private | Message: Dearest Cindy,
I wanted to let you know that Maggie passed away last Saturday at the age of 23. I wanted you to know that I loved her very much all the way to the end and that she was the sweetest, most loving, generous, smart, trusting easiest horse that I have ever owned. I was so devastated that it took me some time before I could write to you about her. She was still a beauty and I had recently ridden her with the girls in the canyon, and had just given her a bath. In the month of June I had put her in the round pen about three times a week for exercise, then it got hot, but I continued spending time with her every day. I am very grateful now that I had the time to do that, because I really thought that she would be around for quite a few more years, at least to the age of 25 or so. I can’t tell you how thankful I am to you for being in the right place at the right time, for me to get my Maggie. Thank you. I’ll never know the pleasure of having another horse like her, and I am grateful for my chance to have known her, my soul mate. She will always be “my little girl”.
Take care, hope all is well with you,
Melody |

Brianna was tied for high point in AA on the first day, but was beat out on the second day. She ran her first AAA time. Her and Magic ran a 12.3 in Poles I. Kirstin ended with reserve high point in AA at the end of the 2 days. She had a great show! Rambo and I did awesome, which was really special because this was his last gymkhana. We had high point the first day and were able to keep it through the show. We also achieved our AAA champion rating (Poles I was holding us back but he ran a 12.1 which finished it up). Finally, Rambo and I got overall high point for the show. What a weekend! Hope all is well. We are planning on going to the barrel race on the 15th and hope to see you there. Stay cool! Christine |

| Name: Moorman | E-mail: | Message: Good to talk to you this morning...it takes a good 30 days for CGA to come to a decision.... I am praying that you prevail!!! Love ya, Cheri
Meagan Moorman's Hall Of Fame Speech 2008 Hi, my name is Meagan Moorman for those of you who don’t know me.
This past year has been a blur…. It’s hard to believe it’s already time for Convention.
I’m honored to be making Hall of Fame for the 2nd time and again re-living my dream and goal, it has truly been an awesome experience. I’m dedicating this achievement to my amazing ex-partner Fancy, my Family, Friends and Supporters.
Fancy helped me get through the rough days, the days when I just needed someone to talk to, someone non-judgmental, and bless her heart she never once disagreed with me.
Fancy and I achieved many new goals this past season. I was and will forever be very fond of her big heart. Fancy was always up for a good race and was there for me every-step of the way. Her legacy and accomplishments will always be with me.
I never realized how much of an effect she had on me until, unfortunately, she moved on to another very lucky owner. I’ll regret not spending more time with her and those moments when I took her for granted. But we had a great run and it will be a time of my life that I’ll always cherish.
Although this has been a year of great accomplishments for me it has also been a year of un-believable sacrifices for those I hold dear.
Life provides many strange twists and turns; many are extremely painful and cruel. But it is a measure of your true friends and those that support you no matter what, that gives one hope and encouragement.
If I listed every person in CGA who has made a positive impact on my life, we would be here for days. When you look up at me today making my speech, and you are touched, then you know in your heart what you mean to me.
I can’t seem to find the right words or expressions to ever repay those of you who have been there for my family and I since day one. There are some people who have helped make me who I am, and I wouldn’t be able to leave here tonight without naming them.
My parents are the reason I am here today, giving me the strength and encouragement to be here to accept this award.
If you were to look up (hero) in the dictionary, I assure you there would be a picture of my dad. My dad is my rock. My best friend. My everything. A prime example of someone who gives and gives but never expects anything in return.
Blood is thicker than water, and forever will his blood run through my veins and I can say that proudly with my head-held high. Forever will I be grateful for my father. I love you more than words can describe. I promise you that I will never be afraid to do the “right thing”.
My mom, we have an inseparable bond, nothing can shake or break what we have. You’re not only my parent but also a true friend. Your support and love mean more to me than life itself.
Tegan…my sister and best friend. My number one kid supporter. We’ve been through more than we should; yet we still have come out pretty darn good. You helped me to weather the storm, because it can’t rain forever. You help me to get through the bad times, and to look forward to the good times, because no matter what, we’ll make the best of what we’re given.
If there were one person in the world I wish I could share this HOF achievement with, it’d be Tegan. I can’t wait to hear your speech some day.
There are many of you who have shared your love, given your support, provided encouragement and made a difference in my life.
Marta Westestyn - you’re one amazing person. I cherish our bond and close friendship. You have all the right words to say and ways to say them. All the little and big things you’ve done for my family and me are un-believable. I will never forget the “dates” we had…sushi at Linko’s, tanning and pedicures. Someday I’ll figure a way to repay you.
Lauren Westestyn – Thank you for all those encouraging texts and running up to me at school hugging me and telling me it will all be alright, it really did make it seem alright. You’re one special individual, and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Monica Marie, my big sis. I can’t wait to hear about your runs this season, and hearing about your accomplishments. You’ve been with me through it all, ups and downs, heaven and hell, and everything in between. I know it’s not easy, so thank you, again.
Cynthia and Rick Long – Heather Michaels - non-stop supporters for the past 4 years. Thank you for your love, support, friendship and awesome B-B-Q’s, the rocking Halloween parties, and all the fun we had hanging out together at State. You guys go above and beyond for my family and I. On behalf of my parents, I thank you, for everything you’ve done, and for everything you continue to do.
To the DeMontigny family - like a 2nd family, you have meant so much to me.
Leanna - you’ve been like an older sister to me. I miss you guys every day and can’t wait to see Kaiden and Mason living out the DeMontigny tradition and making hall of fame for the 3rd generation.
Mariah - you’ve been the little voice in my head, the inspiration that never lets me quit. No matter my frustrations, or how impossible it seems, you always inspire me to do better, or to go for it. You showed me soooo much this past year, and I’ll carry that with me for forever.
Grandma Lea - my very cool second grandma. I remember the blaring Mexican music and rocking out in the car at In and Out, and how you coached me to perfect my riding in flags and keyhole and helped me stay focused and motivated to finish my HOF. Just because you guys are a few hundred miles away doesn’t mean I don’t miss you everyday, I love you all. With love and heartfelt thanks for your support and kindness, I’d like to also acknowledge;
Sue and Brent Engelhardt Kori Cruz Diana, Mark and Makayla Wherli Phyllis and Roger Odom Kim Taylor and Family Cyndi & Vance Gereaux Morgan Easel (for my awesome HOF picture) My uncle Ron & aunt Sandi Davison My Grandparents – Mel & Esther
Finally – To the CGA Staff, Board of Directors, Board of Governors, gatekeepers, timewriters & all those that invest their time and energy who help make this possible – thank you for helping and encouraging all of us to achieve our dreams. We could not be here without your unselfish dedication.
You have reminded me, and my family, that good people and friendship is what truly matters in life. For this I will never forget and always hold you dear to my heart. I have learned a great deal from my time with CGA and gained qualities and strength that will help me throughout my life…. I am more than lucky enough for that.
Matt Stavron, one of my dear friends that passed away last September, always said, “Obstacles are put in your path to test how well you can get around them.” Matt showed me how one little choice you make in life can affect the outcome more than you think, and I will strive to remember his advice.
Though one chapter in my life is coming to an end, another is starting and I can’t wait to see what life has in store for me.
My time with Fancy and all of you has helped shape my life, provided me the opportunity to achieve some dreams and experiences I will never forget.
To all – especially the kids - I ask that you believe in yourself, stay strong and try to always do the right thing no matter how difficult. Don’t do what you’re friends say is the right thing to do, do what you believe is right, don’t act out of spite, act out of right, live for you, for in the end it is you who you need to depend on.
Thank you again for this amazing opportunity. I will close with this, for these three things remain: love, faith, and friendship.
Be good to each other and goodbye for now. |

Good would love to have you there!! The points are not in yet from the last show, however I think we won a silver halter or a silver headstall for OVER ALL CHAMPION but dont quote me on that, Princess has turned out to be more that I hoped for, I just love her. I'll be showing in walk trot classes also next season, not going to rush her one bit there is no reason to. Im so excited to have a professonally trained show horse always dreamed of that.

I'M A BARREL RACER I'm a barrel racer, Lord. A quick time is all I need. Just to turn these three barrels with a descent amount of speed. I've hauled a lot of miles to run this horse of mine. To make each barrel race & then the next one down the line. If it's a spill that I take, please, Lord keep the dirt soft. For another run I'll make just as soon as I dust off. Then I'll climb back in my saddle, ever anxious for my next ride. With heart & will in hand to win or lose with grace. For some other girl will want to win this very same race. So let us ride as one Lord, my barrel horse and me. For hard work & perseverance, I believe this is the key. We've trained & we've worked hard & if I win you know of course, To You I'll give the glory, to You & to my horse.

We had a great time at the bloomington gymkhana, and last night at the barrel race. Wow, I feel like more of a team with this horse after a few weeks than I did with my other horse after a full year. Sometimes it just takes the right combo. On Saturday Tonto aka Ricky was good as gold, But LAST night. we went out to Buffalo Meadows, and there were quite a few more riders, including a few that are regular gymkhana riders so I could get a better sense of times. There was a AAA+ horse/rodeo caliber horse there which helped me determine their course. He HAULED and ran a 17.5, so definitely not a standard course but not too far off. No one else came close to his times but on my third run I let Tonto go. He positively flew. We ran an 18.4, second fastest time of the night. At speed, he approached just about perfectly, I one handed him lightly and we had a fantastic first turn and hauled to two. I was so pleased with him, you really get the feeling he runs for YOU. I had a blast. He's really fun to ride and smooth in a pattern at speed. Mom did 1000 times better on Tucker, we both feel like we're getting there - What fun. We have to start videoing, we;ll try to send something up soon - Love, Wendy

| Name: Debbie McNelly | E-mail: debbie.mcnelly@gd-ais.com | | Message: Cindi, Your a wealth of knowledge when it comes to horses. It is creeping up on a year now since we purchased Rocket from you and it has been a wild ride. Rocket has been a great horse and companion to Bill. The training Rocket has been put through not to mention the lessons Bill has learned has only made him a better rider and Rocket a much more respectful horse. No more nibbling!! Were looking so forward to the summer to come in and the days to remain longer so we can spend much more time out on the trails with him. Thanks so much and we will always remember the center of gravitiy along with the over and under...Your the best. |
